Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton for Mrs. Zettie Johnson, age 96, of Ovett.  Mrs. Johnson passed from this life on December 10, 2022 surrounded by her family and close friends at her daughter's home in Ovett.  Bro. Charles Mayo and Bro. Colon Rowell will officiate the service and burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery in the Landrum Community.  Pallbearers will be Anthony Knight, Bob Moss, Shelton Sims, Shannon Sims, John O'Neal,  and Scotty McMahon.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Creel, Jason Creel, and Elvin Creel.

Mrs. Zettie was born and raised in Ovett, Mississippi.  She will be remembered for the love she always had for all of her children and family she was blessed with.  She was a great cook and loved to garden.  She was a faithful member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Ovett.  She retired as a dietician from the Jones County Rest Home where she worked for many years.

Mrs. Zettie was preceded in death by her sons, Richard Johnson and Jerry Johnson; granddaughter, Jessica Johnson; and parents, Claude and Lizzie Rogers.

She is survived by her children, Paul Johnson, Sandra Creel, Barbara (Elvin) Creel, and Janice Sims, all of Ovett; grandchildren, Shelton Sims, Stephen Dement, Anthony (Lezlee) Knight, Shannon (Maria) Sims, Jason (Melissa) Creel, Paula Johnson, M.J. Johnson, Tasha Johnson, and Alex Johnson; 22 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
