Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Shelton Baptist Church of Moselle for Mr. William Franklin "Bill" Kilgore, Sr. of Moselle, MS who died Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Brookdale Memory Care. Rev. Dick Lindsey will officiate with burial to follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery of Hattiesburg. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Cook, Jr., Brandon Kilgore, Billy Knight, Jason Marlow, Mark Pace, Mike Pace, Jordan Shaw and Mark Sorgee. The honorary pallbearer will be Josh Williford.

Bill was born on November 16, 1931, and was raised in Moselle, Mississippi. He graduated from Moselle High School in 1950, married the love of his life, Billie, later that year, and immediately went to work. He hauled logs in New Mexico, assembled cars in Detroit, and sold vacuum cleaners in Mississippi before he began his insurance career. He worked 42 years and retired from United Insurance Company of America. He was a natural salesman and won numerous awards and trips for his sales achievements.

He loved Jesus and served Him as Sunday School teacher and deacon at several churches. After retiring, he and his wife, Billie, joined Shelton Baptist Church where he continued to serve the Lord. He was a faithful witness and led many people to the Lord. His service and leadership touched many lives in the Shelton and surrounding communities.

Bill never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. He was quiet the character, frequently pulling practical jokes and making people laugh. His hobbies included gardening, fishing and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Kilgore; mother, Pauline Kilgore and father, Duff Neil Kilgore.

Bill is survived by three daughters, Pat (Andy) Pace of Sumrall, Sandy (Robin) Cameron of Hattiesburg, and Lyn Cook of Birmingham, AL; a son Bill (Rhonda) Kilgore, Jr. of Hallsville, TX; a brother, Alford (Yvonne) Kilgore of Moselle, MS; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Shelton Baptist Church of Moselle.
