Mr. Wallace L. Brewer, age 89, of Petal, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on May 15, 2026.

Wallace was born in Greene County on June 15, 1936, to Will and Margie Brewer. He and his beloved wife of 66 years, Rosell Brewer, spent most of their lives together in the Sand Hill Community, where they built a life centered on family, hard work, and service to others.

Wallace worked for several years in the maintenance department for the Greene County School District before beginning a long career at Camp Shelby, where he dedicated more than 20 years of service and retired as Electrical Foreman. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet dependability, and willingness to help anyone in need.

A man who loved the outdoors, Wallace especially enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was also a founding member of the Sand Hill Volunteer Fire Department and devoted many years of faithful service to his community through the department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Margie Brewer; and his brothers, Pettis Brewer and Talmadge Brewer.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rosell Brewer; his daughters, Jackie (Jerome) Mills of Petal and Paula Brewer Holyfield of Petal; his grandchildren, Hollianna (Jan) Vanderschaaf of Petal, Sawyer McLeod of Chicago, Reid Holyfield of Petal, Cooper Holyfield of Mendenhall, and Baylor Holyfield of Mendenhall; his great-grandson, Max Munna; his sister, Dimple Lollis of Lucedale; and a special bonus daughter, Debbie Tyree.

Wallace will be remembered for his love of family, dedication to his community, and the steady, kind presence he brought to those who knew and loved him.
