Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, in County Line Missionary Baptist Church located at 998 Oak Bowery Rd., Ellisville, MS 39437 for Mr. W. H. Turner, Jr., age 83, of Ellisville. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 5, 2025, at his residence. Bro. Everett Broom, Bro. Steve Ellis and Bro. Roy Crouch will officiate with the burial to follow in the Welch-Graham Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be William M. Turner, Travis Turner, Ryan Turner, Jordan Foxworth, Cooper Foxworth and Ford Turner with Brent Turner, Maverick Turner and Brayden Turner as Honorary pallbearers.

W. H. was a lifelong resident of Jones County. He was the oldest of 9 children. He graduated from Ellisville High School in 1960 and from JCJC in 1962. He was an avid reader, especially of historical books.

He was a faithful member of County Line Baptist Church where he became an adult Sunday School teacher at the age of 75. For the last 3 months of his life, he sang "Jesus Loves Me" daily. In his own words written on the front cover of his Bible "The greatest day of my life-July 8, 1993" was the day of his salvation.

He retired from Bell South with 35 years of service. During retirement he completed the Master Gardening program, was a member of the Boggy Fire Department, became a first responder, a board member of Southwest Water Association and a member of the Magnolia Woodturners Club.

He made numerous pieces of furniture for grandkids and others. He loved to garden and took great pride in it. He loved his woodwork shop and used a wood lathe to create many beautiful wooden bowls and other items to share with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harlon and Cleo Marie Walters Turner, Sr.; son, Arthur "Art" James Turner; brothers, Terrell Turner and Ronnie Turner and sisters, Ellen Marie Turner and Virginia Moody.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Joan E. Turner; children, Harry (Helena) Turner, Don (Rhonda) Turner and Leah (David) Foxworth; grandchildren, William M. (Christine) Turner, Nichole (Jason) Dunston, Travis (Kayla) Turner, Ryan Turner, Hannah (Caleb) Miller, Ford (Allyson) Turner, Jordan (Adrianna) Foxworth, Madison Foxworth, Cooper Foxworth and Alysha Netherland; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Odis (Beverly) Turner, Ricky (Sandy) Turner, Larry Turner and sister, Barbara Brownlee.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, at County Line Missionary Baptist Church.

Services are being provided by Jones and Son Funeral Home of Moselle, MS.
