Services for Mrs. Vivian Ellen "Cricket" Riles, age 77, of Seminary will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Jones & Son Chapel in Moselle.  Mrs. Riles passed from this life on September 6, 2026 at her residence.  Bro. Charles Brady and Bro. John Mills will officiate the service and burial will follow in Walters Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Mitchell; Jason Mitchell, Reagan Odom, Buck Jones, Jacob Jordan, Tommie Jordan, and Devan Blancett.

Mrs. Riles was a beloved member of Lowery Creek Baptist Church. She found great joy in caring for her home and yard, especially working in her flowerbeds. She also had a special love for nature and enjoyed feeding hummingbirds and other animals that visited her yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vernon Riles; daughter, Laveta Ann Smith; parents, Benson Jason Mitchell and Vivian Vernell "Nell" Mitchell; and brother, Michael Jason Mitchell.

She is survived by her son, John Mitchell (Janet) Riles of Seminary; grandson, John Caleb Smith; brother, Steve (Audrey) Walters of Seminary; and sisters, Beverly (Buck) Jones and Aletia Byrd, both of Seminary.

Mrs. Riles will be remembered for her love of family, her kindness, and the simple joys she found in caring for her home, flowers, and the many creatures she welcomed into her yard. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
