Services for Mrs. Vesta Marie Prentiss Brewer, age 98, of Leakesville will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Sweet Water Missionary Baptist Church in Leakesville.  Mrs. Brewer passed from this life on June 13, 2023 at her residence.  Bro. Jon Williamson will officiate the service and burial will follow in Sweet Water Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Frankie Brewer, Jr., Tommy Brewer, Will Brewer, Lamar Snypes, Taylor Sanford, and Pat Brewer.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hal Rounsaville and Cary Williams.

Mrs. Brewer was a faithful member of Sweet Water Missionary Baptist Church.  She worked in the garment factory for over 35 years, where she retired as Sewing Room Supervisor.  She also worked for the Greene County 911 Addressing Office and then managed the Greene County Rural Events Center.  She was a devoted and loving wife to her late husband of 74 years, Roland Brewer.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and was loved by all.

Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Brewer; sons, Frankie Brewer and William Hardy Brewer; son-in-law, Plummer Kittrell; daughter-in-law, Alice Brewer; granddaughter, Angel Brewer; sister, Jessie Hicks; and brothers, Dewitt Prentiss, Russell Prentiss, and Jack Prentiss.

She is survived by her children, Vaden (Karla) Brewer of Leakesville, Linda (Gary) Jones of Wilmer, AL, and Judy Kittrell of Leakesville; daughter-in-law, Sharon (Lionel) Eubanks of Lucedale; grandchildren, Frankie Brewer, Jr., Tommy Brewer, Alison Schular, Will Brewer, Jennifer Sanford, Michele Snypes, Amelia Kittrell, Vaden E. Brewer, Jr., Pat Brewer, Brandi Turner, Baylee Smith, and Brooklyn Ham; 28 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; sisters, Reba Devine and Elizabeth McMillian; brother, Donnie (Fannie Kate) Prentiss; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
