Services for Mrs Veida Rhea Brannan Kitchens, age 82, of Leakesville, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2025 at Mutual Rights Congregational Methodist Church in Avery.  Mrs. Kitchens passed from this life on June 25, 2025 in Leakesville.  Rev. Gregory Foster and Rev. Glenn Freeman will officiate the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Therrell Smith, Rex Ellzey, Ryan Ellzey, David Barry, Stephen McLeod, Scott Inman, and Dennis Inman.

Mrs. Kitchens was a devoted member of Mutual Rights Congregational Methodist Church, where she lovingly shared her gift for music by playing the piano, a talent she also shared with countless students as a piano teacher for many years. Her life was marked by service, both to her community and those closest to her.

She was a proud and active member of the Sand Hill Chapter of the Eastern Star, where she held numerous offices throughout the years. Her leadership, grace, and dedication left a lasting impact on all who served alongside her.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and caregiver, Mrs. Kitchens brought joy and happiness to every room she entered. Her beautiful smile, playful sense of humor, and musical talents touched the lives of many.

She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Kitchens; son, Boyd Kitchens; mother, Vermell Roberts Miller; father, Boyd Brannan; and sister, Dorothy Brannon Buchanan.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana Kitchens Eubanks of Lucedale; granddaughter, Shelby Rogers of Lucedale; and a host of nieces and nephews.
