Services for Mr. Thomas Cozad, age 80, of Richton will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 11, 2023 at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton.  Mr. Cozad passed from this life on December 7, 2023 at his residence.  Bro. Bobby Scarbrough and Bro. Shot Stinson will officiate the service and burial will follow in Freeman Cemetery.   Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Byrd, Dewey Stokes, Dustin Stokes, Korey Stokes, Ken Merritt, and JR Kittrell.  Honorary pallbearer will be Lavon Felts.

Tom worked for many years in the oilfield before going to work for Perry County Hospital as an ambulance driver for 10 years.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.  One of his favorite pastimes was watching westerns and doing his crossword puzzles.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Edith Cozad; and brother, Bill Cozad.

He is survived by his children, Dewey (Sophia) Stokes of Richton, Tommy (Maggie) Cozad of Hamel, IL, Natasha (Mitch) Scarbrough of Richton, and Jade Cozad of Richton; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
