Services for Mr. Stephen Hamby, age 45, of Petal, were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Praise Tabernacle Church in Ovett. Mr. Hamby passed from this life on December 8, 2024 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Bro. Russell Barber officiated the service and burial followed in the church cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Chance Barber, Chase Barber, Conner Downing, Cole Downing, Tim Lambert, and Kenny Walters.

Mr. Hamby worked in the oilfield for several years before going on the road as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Elizabeth Hamby; sisters, Deanna Hamby and Margaret Montague; and brother, Paul Hamby.

He is survived by his siblings, Matt (Saundra) Hamby, Frank (Mary) Hamby, Marvin Hamby, Jr., Eva Taylor, Leah (Bradley) Montgomery, Melissa Hamby, and Joanna Hamby; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
