Services for Mr. Stanley Upshaw, age 81, of Ovett, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mr. Upshaw passed from this life on August 19, 2025 in Hattiesburg.  Bro. Charles Mayo will officiate the service and burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.

Mr. Upshaw was a devoted family man and respected figure in the car business. He spent the majority of his adult life working in the automotive industry, serving both as a dedicated salesman and as a manager at Hattiesburg Auto Auction, where he earned the trust and admiration of colleagues and customers alike.  A longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church, Mr. Upshaw lived his life guided by faith, kindness, and integrity. Outside of work, he found great joy in the simple pleasures of life — especially spending time at the beach. Dauphin Island held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the peace and beauty of those coastal days. Fishing was another of his favorite pastimes, offering both quiet reflection and the thrill of the catch.  Mr. Upshaw will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the friendships he nurtured, and the memories shared by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Kaleb Upshaw; parents, Matthew and Alma Vesta Upshaw; and brothers, "Short" Upshaw and Toby Upshaw.

He is survived by his wife, Janice West Upshaw of Ovett; sons, Wayne Upshaw of Hattiesburg and Michael Upshaw of Richton; grandchildren, Karlie Upshaw, Jackson Upshaw, and Eli Upshaw; and 4 great grandchildren.
