A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Brookside Barn, 55 Blackwell Loop, Ellisville, MS 39437 for Mr. Skip Matthew, age 49, of Seminary.  Mr. Matthew passed from this life on September 1, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital.

Skip lived his life with a passion for service.  He loved the Lord and he loved his girls, Sidney, Madison, and Marlie.  His wife Crystal and their three girls were his entire world, and he showed his devotion to them daily.  He made the everyday fun with his love for music and singing.  He also had a love for the outdoors and hunting.  Skip worked for the city of Hattiesburg for 10 years, having recently been promoted to Division Manager of Construction.  He was an electrician by trade, and the lights in Hattiesburg shine brighter because of Skip, his team, and his drive for excellence.  He thrived on a new challenge, and his passion shone through with each new successful project. While we rejoice in our faith that Skip is now resting in Heaven with our Savior, we remember him as a great husband, father, son, brother, employee, and friend.

Skip is survived by his wife Crystal Matthew of Seminary; daughters, Sidney Marie Matthew, Madison Chay Matthew, and Marlie Kyndall Matthew; mother, Shirley Riels of Petal; father, Vernon Franklin "Skip" Matthew, Sr. of Petal; sisters, Debbie Ratcliff and Donna Minter, both of Petal; and grandfather, Otto McLendon of Petal.
