Services for Mr. Shelton Overstreet, age 63, of the Strengthford Community, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mr. Overstreet passed from this life on February 24, 2025 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Bro. Charles Mayo and Bro. Shane Dykes will officiate the service and burial will follow in Strengthford Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Dean, Austin Wilson, Gerritt Gregg, Blake Hensarling, Steven Overstreet, and Ryan Barnett.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Wyatt Barnett, Connor Barnett, Clay Gregg, J.C. Hensarling, and Kash Wilson.

Mr. Overtstreet attended Landmark Church in Ovett.   He retired from Paris Trucking of Laurel after 5 years of service and worked for 35 years with Boyles Roofing of Waynesboro.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gail Overstreet; son, Eric Overstreet; parents, Braze and Gertrude Overstreet; and sister, Genetta Lawson.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Lynn Brewer Overstreet of the Strengthford Community; stepdaughters, Kolena (Austin) Wilson of Richton and Breanna (Gerritt) Gregg of the Strengthford Community; grandchildren, Lexi Freeman, Michaela Freeman, J.C. Hensarling , Clay Gregg, Landon Minter, Jaxon Daley, and Kash Wilson; sisters, Shelia (George) Barnett and Retta Barnett, both of the Evergreen Community; nephew, Ryan (Tanya) Barnett of the Evergreen Community; niece, Dr. Tekla (Brandan) Fowler of Auburn, AL; great nephews, Wyatt Barnett and Connor Barnett; and great niece, Avery Fowler.
