Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery-Seminary

2:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 553 Bethel Church Rd., Seminary, MS 39479 for Mrs. Sarah Pearce, age 92, of Hattiesburg. Bro. Jeff Brewer will officiate with burial to follow the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Pierce, Timothy Trigg, Randy Laird and Harvey Laird.

Sarah was born on April 23, 1933, to Wilmer and Tressie Pearl Shows Pierce in Mississippi. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. She loved to play Mexican Train Dominos and travel.

Mrs. Pearce was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Pearce; parents and siblings,  Leo Ware, Evelyn Sanford, James Pierce, Bill Pierce, Esther Trigg.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Alice Laird of Bogue Chitto, MS and Jewell Dean Lee of Hattiesburg; grandchildren, Randy Laird (Ashley) and Harvey Laird both of Bogue Chitto, MS and Sharon Cowey of Boston, MA and great-grandchild, Ethan Laird of Wesson, MS.
