Services for Mrs. Sarah Dement, age 73, of Richton will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mrs. Dement passed from this life on August 4, 2024 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Bro. William Smith will officiate the service and burial will follow in New Augusta Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Henderson, Kenton Henderson, Blake Hoeflich, Tyler Hoeflich, Tommy Creel, Merle Walley, and Matt Dabbs as alternate.

Mrs. Dement loved fishing, camping, and building fires.  She also enjoyed sitting on her back porch listening to the rain and her windchimes as well as watching her birds, deer, and raccoons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Dement; daughter, Charlene Marshall; parents, Chester and Nona Clifton; brothers, Lester Wayne Clifton and David Allen "Bimbo" Clifton; and sisters, Cheslene Rylee and Barbara Edwards.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Walker of Morton, Deana McGill and Billy Jo Acebo, both of Richton; grandchild, Heather (Matt) Dabbs of Richton; brothers, Kenneth "Tangle Eye" (Joyce) Clifton and Leonard "Sandy" (Wanda) Clifton, both of Richton; sister, Theda (Larry Lambert of Richton; honorary grandchild, Annie Wester of Richton and stepgrandchild, Savanna Bowar of Richton.
