Graveside services for Mr. Sammy L. Freeman, age 74, of Richton, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2026 at the Freeman Cemetery in the Sand Hill community with Bro. Nick Freeman officiating.

Sammy worked over 15 years with the Greene County Beat 3 road crew as an equipment operator.  He was a member of Zion's Rest Missionary Baptist Church.  He loved Mississippi State and a good cold Coke.  Sammy was a plain and simple kind of guy who enjoyed family and the little things of life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ernie Mae Freeman; and his brothers, Stafford Freeman and Jerolyn Freeman.

He is survived by his nephews, Nick Freeman and Shaun Freeman; sister-in-law, Joannie Freeman; sister, June McDonald; and nieces, Gala Whiddon and Lisa Mack.

Visitation for Mr. Freeman will be held from 2:30 until 3:00 p.m. Monday, also at the graveside.
