Services for Mrs. Ruby Nell "Dottie" Malone will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Eastside Baptist Church in Richton.

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Ruby Nell "Dottie" Malone of Richton, MS, graduated to glory on October 12, 2024, at Asbury Hospice in Hattiesburg, MS, at 92 years of age. She was born on February 11, 1932, to Willie Sharp Mayo and Ruby Vester Newell.

On December 13, 1947, she married Reuben Roscoe Malone, and they shared 69 wonderful years together until his passing in 2016. Ruby Nell will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, dedicated homemaker, and fantastic cook. She loved to cook and bake for anyone and everyone, teach her grandchildren how to cook, tend her and Roscoe's garden, and watch her favorite daytime television shows, especially "her stories." Ruby Nell lived in the kitchen and was forever cooking up a storm.

In addition to her many talents, Ruby Nell worked in housekeeping and laundry services at Perry County General Hospital. Her love language was acts of service, and she excelled at it, whether helping with Vacation Bible School, baking a cake, or preparing a whole meal. She loved to be of service to her family, friends, and most importantly, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ruby Nell was a charter member of Eastside Baptist Church in Richton, MS, where she sang in the choir and faithfully attended Sunday School, church services, and prayer meetings.

Ruby Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Roscoe Malone; her son, Randall Wade Malone, Sr.; her grandsons, Randall Wade Malone, Jr. and Charles Ross Dunn; her brothers, Jody Mayo, Gene Mayo, and Evon Mayo; and her sisters, Vernell Bowden, Peggy Watson, and Estelle Nicholson.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Lee and Rebecca Dunn both of Richton, MS; her sons, Robert Malone and Rockey Malone both of Richton, MS; her grandchildren, Cary (Justin) Cluck of Tucson, AZ, Calley (Brittney) Dunn Crawford of New Albany, MS, Morgan Dunn of Columbia, MS, Bailey (Collin) Stout of Tucson, AZ, and Knute Malone of Bay Springs, MS; her great-grandchildren, Samantha Malone, Kimberly Hall, and Randall Wade Malone, III, all of Richton, MS; as well as two great-great-grandchildren, Kace and Jaxxon. She is also survived by her brothers, Rev. Charles (Lena) Mayo and Billy (Kittie) Mayo of Richton, MS. Lastly, but certainly not least, Ruby Nell leaves behind her constant companion and best friend until the end, her dog, Gracie Lou. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Ruby Nell was the strongest woman, the sweetest and kindest person, but she didn't take anything from anyone. She was deeply loved and cherished by her community.

Visitation will be held at Eastside Baptist Church from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., located at 12 Eastside Church Road, Richton.  Brother Rockey Malone, Reverend Charles Mayo, and Brother Mikey Cooper will officiate. Pallbearers include Frank Malone, Mike Cooper, Robert Newell, Knute Malone, Randall W. Malone, III, and Brady Bowden.
