Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, at Richton Church of God for Mr. Ronnie E. "Slim" Freeman, age 77, of Richton. Mr. Freeman passed from this life on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Forrest General Hospital. Rev. Evans Freeman, Rev. Barry Sullivan, and Rev. Pacer Sullivan will officiate with burial to follow in the Freeman Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Darren Walley, Dennis Walley, Kelvin Freeman, Clifton Freeman, Craig Freeman, Scotty Freeman, Loren Freeman, and Chris Herring.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley J. Freeman and second wife, Frances Freeman; parents, Edgar and Mary Freeman; brother, Vinson Freeman; and sister, Vivian Graham.

He is survived by his daughters, Kim (John) Murray and Cheryl (Alton) Rigney, both of Richton; grandchildren, Neal (Kristin) Walley, Kyle (Taylor) Walley, Taylor Rigney, and Alli Grace Rigney, all of Richton, Andrew (Madilyne) Murray of Waynesboro; great-grandchildren, Kasen Walley, Kaisley Walley, Kami Walley, Oakley Walley, Jazlynn Walley, Sawyer Meadows and  Emmy Klair Walley, all of Richton, Averly Murray and Gandon Murray, both of Waynesboro; brothers Edward Freeman of Leakesville and Larry Freeman of Richton; and host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Freeman loved spending time with his family. He retired from Kelly Brothers Construction where he worked as a truck driver. He was an avid coon hunter. He attended Richton Church of God and was a long-time member of Zion's Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Richton Church of God.
