Services for Mr. Ronnie Johnston, age 84, of Petal, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mr. Johnston passed from this life on June 23, 2025 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Bro. Justin Stinson will officiate the service and burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Piave.  Serving as pallbearers will be Caster Page, Ross Page, Nick Page, Joshua Smith, Tristen Page, and Kevin Pitts.

Mr. Johnston was a devoted husband, father, and friend.  He worked for over 25 years as a painter at Ingalls Shipbuilding, where he was known for his strong work ethic and quiet dedication. A man of deep faith, he was a long-time and faithful member of Piave Church of God of Prophecy, where he also served as a deacon. Since moving to Petal, he had been attending Trinity Heights Church of God.  In his free time, Mr. Johnston enjoyed working with his ham radio, reading, watching westerns, and most of all, spending time with his family.  He will be remembered for his steady presence, kind spirit, and unwavering faith.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Spenser Thomas Johnston; parents, Vernice and Margaret Johnston; and sister, Shirley Ruth Tooley.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Jean Johnston of Petal; children, Todd (Becky) Johnston of Petal, Scott (Heather) Johnston of Brandon, and Amy (Casey) Page of Grand Bay, AL; grandchildren, Memorie (Cody) Parkman, Alyssa Johnston, Briana Adams, and Chelsea Page; great grandchildren, Colton, Lexi, Emilee, and Riley; sister, Carolyn Holland (Gene); and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
