Services for Mr. Roger Wayne Jones, Sr., age 68, of Seminary, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Caney Baptist Church in Lumberton.  Mr. Jones passed from this life on November 7, 2025.  Bro. Roger Miller will officiate the service and burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Lumberton.  Serving as pallbearers will be Cayde Powell, Doyle Powell, Robert "Bob" Powell, Shane Sistrunk, and Bradley Lucus.

Mr. Jones was a member of Midway Baptist Church.  He was a groundskeeper at the Canebrake Golf Course in Hattiesburg.  Prior to that he worked in the oilfield industry, on land and offshore, and he was a truck driver for numerous years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Mazie Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Powell Jones of Seminary; sons, Rembert Bryan (Maggie) Powell of Sumrall and Roger Wayne Jones, Jr. (Morgan Short) of Seminary; daughter, Vennie Smith of Purvis; gandchildren, Brianna Powell, Cayde Powell, Abigail Powell, Jamei Jones, Natalie Powell, Candace Young, Carlie Smith, Steven Smith, Leatha Davis. and Aussie Davis; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Billy (Gladys) Jones of Columbia, Jeff (Debbie) Jones of Purvis, Lonnie Jones of Lumberton, and Louis (Brandi) Jones of Lumberton; sister, Fay (Frankie) Sistrunk of Lumberton; and a host of other relatives.
