Services for Mr. Rodney "Sambo" Malone, age 64, of Richton will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mr. Malone passed from this life on June 2, 2024 at his residence.  Bro. Charles Mayo will officiate the service and burial will follow in the Malone Family Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Best, Cray Malone, Bo Bunnell, Heath Malone, Justin Malone, and Russ Malone with David Malone and Austin Odom as alternates.

Mr. Malone worked in the oilfield for over 35 years where he retired as a tool pusher with Nabors Drilling.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and working in his garden.  He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, granddaughters, and great grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Henry and Glendora May Malone; son, Rocky Malone; sister, Patricia Ann Henderson; and brother, Richard Malone.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Kay Malone of Richton; son, David (Rachelle) Malone of Richton; daughter, Kaila Malone of Richton; granddaughters, Reegan (Austin) Odom, Anna Belle Malone, Kaitlyn Malone, Makaila Malone, Sophia Malone, and Maddison Malone; great grandsons, Conway Odom and Sawyer Malone; and siblings, Billy (Jamie) Malone, Kathy (David) Bunnell, Kenneth (Trish) Malone, Eileen (Robert Earl) Best, Gary (Trish) Malone, Larry Malone, and James (Tracey) Malone, all of Richton.
