Services for Mr. Robert Lee Cowart, age 78, of Richton, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2025 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mr. Cowart passed from this life on March 6, 2025 at his residence.  Bro. Steve Brewer and Bro. Hunter Brewer will officiate the service and burial will follow in Edwards Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Bryce Cowart, Hayden Cowart, Carson Edwards, Dewayne Sanders, Neil Byrd, Dawson Holder, and Oliver Yates.

Mr. Cowart attended Pineview Church of God.  He was retired from Georgia Pacific Railroad in New Augusta where he was an engineer.   He was also a retired law enforcement officer with 19 years of service with the Richton Police Department and the Perry County Sheriff's Department.  He loved the Lord and loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Nell Cowart; parents, Will and Barbara Cowart; brothers, James Cowart and Hank Cowart; and sisters, Wilton Cowart Sylvester, Violet Cowart Cormier, and Betty Parker.

He is survived by his sons, Jackie (Dottie) Cowart and Bobby Lenn (Ginger) Cowart, both of Richton; daughters, Leigh Ann (Chris) Clinton and Jana (Jeffery) Hollimon, both of Richton; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, A.Y. Cowart of McLain; sister, Margie Brigdes of Longview, TX; and a host of other relatives.
