Services for Mr. Robert Joel Cook, age 74, of Laurel, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Jones & Son Chapel in Moselle.  Mr. Cook passed from this life on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, in Laurel.  Bro. Jim Taylor will officiate the service and burial will follow at Ellisville Cemetery.

Mr. Cook dedicated many years of his life to his work as a contract wire welder, earning the respect of those who knew him through his strong work ethic and craftsmanship. Outside of work, he found his greatest enjoyment on the water, where he loved spending time bass fishing.  Mr. Cook will be remembered for the life he lived, the friendships he treasured, and the love he shared with those around him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Hazel Cook; brother, William "Bill" Cook; and sister, Roma Faye Herring.

He is survived by his daughters, Kerry (John) Necaise of Austin, TX, Kelly Gray of Laurel, and Courtney (Ty) Crawford of Vancleave; grandchildren, Alex Guin of Austin, TX, Electra Olivers of Laurel, Izaaiah Gray of Laurel, Raylyn Crawford and Wyatt Crawford, both of Vancleave; great grandchild, Theo Guin; sisters, Rita Ann (Mike) Holmes of Sherwood, OR, Gail (Tom) Sumrall of Richton, and Paula Jean (Ronnie) Green of Ellisville.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Jones & Son Funeral Home in Moselle.
