9:30 - 11:00 a.m.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Hickory Grove Church of God for Mrs. Robbie Elaine Merrill, age 71, of New Augusta.  Mrs. Merrill passed from this life on December 27, 2022 at her residence.  Bro. Dennis Polk will officiate the service and burial will follow in Hickory Grove Church of God Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Matt Ready, Dan Ready, Mark Ready, Lee Ready, Robert Shows, Jr., Earl Ready, and Taylor Shows.

Mrs. Merrill was a member of Hickory Grove Church of God where she was an active member of several committees, including the food and decorating committees.  She retired after 36 years as an elementary school teacher, where she taught mainly at Runnelstown Elementary.  She was also very active with dyslexia therapy.

Mrs. Merrill was preceded in death by her father, Richard Emmett Lewis.

She is survived by her husband, Mitchell Merrill of New Augusta; mother, Ora Belle Ready Lewis of Richton; sister, Mary (Robert) Shows of Richton; sons, Ricky Lewis, Russell (Chandler) Merrill, and David (Gwen Anne) Merrill, all of Richton; daughters, Magan (Gabe) Jordan of Richton and Tara Merrill of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Emmett Merrill, Channing Merrill, Emily Jordan, Brantley Jordan, Braxton Jordan, Brylee Jordan, Turner Merrill, Shepherd Merrill, and Caleb Merrill; and 2 great grandchildren.
