Services for Mr. Phillip Wesley Shelby, age 53, of Richton, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December  27, 2025 at Richton First Assembly of God.  Mr. Shelby passed from this life on December 24, 2025 in Waynesboro.  Bro. Scott Morris and Bro. Tub Nicholson will officiate the service and burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Waynesboro.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jabe Powe, Chandler Beard, Brett Farrar, Sylan Snypes, Nathan Smith, Courtlen Sims, and Allen Waller.

Mr. Shelby was a devoted member of Richton First Assembly of God. He worked as a Senior Marine Designer with ECS Cyber Security Corporation of New Orleans, Louisiana, where he had been employed for over three years. Prior to that, he dedicated more than 30 years of his career to working with several shipbuilding companies throughout Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.

Mr. Shelby enjoyed camping, jeeping, and traveling, activities that reflected his love for the outdoors and adventure. Above all, he cherished his family. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family deeply and wholeheartedly, and his devotion to them was evident in every part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Betty Shelby; and father-in-law, Amos McLain.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Tracy McLain Shelby of Richton; children, Hayden (Tori) Shelby of Huntsville, AL, Mahala (Noah) Vise of Lucedale, and Canon Shelby (Hannah Manning) of Richton; grandchildren, Scottie Vise, and a granddaughter and grandson on the way; brothers, Robert (Brenda) Shelby, Joel (Janet) Shelby, and David (Delphine) Shelby, all of Clara; sisters, Betty (Mark) Maddox of Guin, AL, and Becky Sharp of Pensacola, FL; parents-in-law, Buddy and Jannis Smith of Richton; and a host of other relatives.
