Services for Mr. Philip Dawson Dueitt, age 69, of Petal, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Jones & Son Chapel in Richton.  Mr. Dueitt passed from this life on August 23, 2026 at his residence.  Bro. Cody Cooley will officiate the service and burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Sujan Ghimire, Rohan Ghimire, Jamie Jamison, Jackson Dueitt, Charlie Pate, Chris Knight, and Kenneth Dueitt as alternate.

Philip was a nurse by trade and a truck driver by heart. He devoted 20 years of his life to caring for others as a nurse before spending nearly 15 years behind the wheel of a truck.  After his working years, Philip embraced his favorite role of all, being a stay-at-home Pawpaw.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Philip proudly served his country in the United States Army and later in the National Guard.  He was a man of many talents and interests, including holding the Guinness World Record for seesawing.  He was also a true Trivial Pursuit master, possessing an incredible wealth of knowledge about seemingly everything.  If there was a question to be answered, Philip probably knew the answer.

A wonderful cook, Philip took great pleasure in bringing family and friends together around good food.  More than anything, though, he will be remembered for the love he had for his family.  He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a cherished Pawpaw whose presence brought laughter, wisdom, and warmth to those around him.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Emory "Fats" and Susie Dueitt; and brother, Harold Dueitt.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Dueitt of Petal; daughters, Abby Dueitt of Lake Mary, FL, Sarah (Sujan) Ghimire of Orange Beach, AL, Erin Brewer of Petal, and Anna (Justin) Holifield of Ellisville; his beloved grandchildren, Rohan Ghimire, Chloe Goode, Emory Dueitt, Nikhil Ghimire, Makinslee Holifield, and Aurora "Butterbean" Brewer; and brother, Bruce (Kathy) Dueitt of Leakesville.

Philip leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His greatest legacy will be the love he gave so freely and the lasting memories he created with those he loved most.
