Services for Mrs. Peggy Pauline Hinton, age 83, of Petal will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.  Mrs. Hinton passed from this life on November 24, 2024 in Hattiesburg.  Bro. Norman Nowell and Bro. Ronald Nowell will officiate the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Randall Henderson, William "Bill" Garaway, B.J. Garaway, Huck Garris, Ethan Chance Hanley, Carl Shows, and Jeremy Shows.

Mrs. Hinton was an active member of Bethel Freewill Baptist Church for over 50 years.  She served as the church treasurer, state association delegate, and worked in the kitchen at VBS and youth camp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Earline Byrd; sister, Beverly Herring; infant brother, John Paul Byrd; brother, James Earl Byrd.

She is survived by her husband, Troy Eugene Hinton of Petal; son, Troy E. "Mud Bug" Hinton, Jr. of Richton; daughter, Patricia Renee (Tommy) Mulloy of Ellisville; grandchildren, Briann (Jesse) Hanley and Blake Gerald, both of Petal; great grandchildren, Ethan Hanley and Ellie Hanley, both of Petal; brother, Paul "Mac" (Libby) Byrd of Beaumont; nieces, Sonya A. Pearce, Jennifer Garaway, and Joani M. Garris; nephew, Huck Garris; sister, Betty Freeman of Brandon.
