Ms. Peggy Herring peacefully entered her eternal home with Our Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 8:02 a.m. She was born on October 3, 1947, at South Mississippi Charity Hospital in Jones County, Mississippi where she first graced the world with her gentle spirit and steadfast heart. Peggy was the second of two cherished daughters to the late Kathleen Vanooyen, whose spirit undoubtedly welcomed her home.  She was preceded in death by her loving mother; her dear older sister, Joyce Moore; and her beloved niece, Tina Hall. Their memories remained a guiding light in Peggy's life.

Peggy's journey was marked by devotion and kindness, traits she generously shared with her family and community, where, for 39 years, she was a dedicated employee at Shirley's Discount Center in Ellisville, Mississippi.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family.  Peggy is survived by her two devoted daughters, Teresa Jean Waltman and Ronda Jackson.  Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren, who loved her dearly and held a special place in her heart, Clifford Knight, Shea Wilkerson, Amanda Grantham (married to Jeffery Grantham. Jr.), Connor Waltman, and Caitlyn Robertson (married to Trevor Robertson). Peggy's love and wisdom will also be carried forward by her six great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Khaleesi Wilkerson, Winry and Lucas Grantham, Kairi and Levi Robertson.  Peggy is also survived by her beloved niece, Pam Hatten, and her husband, Hal Hatten.

Outside of her family commitments, Peggy found peace and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life. She loved tending to the yard, where she found solace and delight in nature's beauty.  Her creative spirit shone through her sewing, crafting pieces that were as functional as they were filled with love.  Above all, Peggy cherished the companionship of her devoted dog, Tinker, whose presence was a constant source of comfort.

In accordance with her wishes, Peggy will be cremated.  Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find solace in the multitude of memories she leaves behind. Her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

As we bid farewell to Peggy, we hold onto the warmth and love she shared with us all. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the beauty of a spirit that touched so many. In our memories and stories, Peggy will continue to live on as a beacon of love and grace.

Rest peacefully, dear Peggy, you will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
