Services celebrating the life of Patricia Kay "Pat" McKay of Lucedale will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2025 at Vernal Presbyterian Church.  Pat McKay passed from this life on January 17, 2025 in the hospital in Mobile, Alabama.  Rev. Reid Roberson and Rev. Philip Williams will officiate the service and burial will follow in the McKay Family Cemetery.

Pat graduated high school in Magnolia, MS and from Ole Miss in Oxford. She was married to William Hansel Seale, Jr. and they had two children, Brad and Katy. In Memphis, she taught school for a short time. She worked for several years as a buyer and manager for a unique boutique in Memphis.  She was also an artist but kept quiet about her paintings.  Several years ago, she moved to the Vernal Community to oversee and manage the McKay Tree Farm in an effort to carry on her family's legacy.  She was a member of Grace Methodist Church and more recently a part of the Vernal Presbyterian Church family.

Pat passionately loved her children, her friends, and animals, especially dogs. She was quick to give genuine compliments to those she cared about and to total strangers. She took in many stray dogs from shelters or the side of the road and encouraged others to do the same.

Ms. Pat was preceded in death by her son, Bradford "Brad" Seale; daughter, Katherine C. "Katy" Barbour; and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McKay.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Robin Seale; son-in-law, Christopher Barbour; one nephew, Ben W. (Ann) Seale, Jr.; her niece, Hamilton Seale; long-time friend, Stephen Craig; and also many friends.

Visitation for Patricia McKay will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Monday at Vernal Presbyterian Church just before the service.
