Services for Mrs. Ora Belle "Memaw" Ready Lewis, age 103, of Richton will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Hickory Grove Church of God.  Mrs. Lewis passed from this life on June 30, 2024 at her residence.  Bro. Toby Bryant and David Merrill will officiate the service and burial will follow in Hickory Grove Church of God Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Lewis, Robert Shows, Jr., Eddie Hendry, Russell Merrill, Matt Ready, Jr., Earl Ready, Mart Ready, and Lee Ready.

Ora Belle Ready Lewis, born February 5, 1921, was the fourth of eight children born to Quinn and Minnie Ready and lived her entire life in Perry County, Mississippi. She loved her Lord and her family.  She was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Church of God where she was active in teaching Sunday School, serving as WMU secretary, and serving on various committees until she became unable to attend in 2019.  She enjoyed singing and did not mind telling whoever may be leading the music to sing a song she would request.  Memaw or Auntcha Belle, whichever one you chose to call her, was always ready to serve wherever she was needed.  While looking through some cards, there was a sweet note from one of the children she would pick up and take to church. The note thanked her for taking the time to take them to church so they would not miss the "Good News" of God's love for them.  She also loved to cook and would call whoever she had cooked for to come get it.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lewis; daughter, Robbie Merrill; parents, Quinn and Minnie "Sis" Ready; brothers, Albert Ready, Joe Ready, Matt Ready, and Ervin Ready; and sisters, Azeline "Duck" Foxworth and Edwina Windham.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Robert) Shows of Richton; grandchildren, Rochelle (Kelly) Carter, Rashea (Greg) Carter, Robin (Billy) Magee, Megan (Gabe) Jordan, Ricky Lewis, Robert (Dee) Shows, Jr., David (Gwenann) Merrill, and Russell (Chandler) Merrill; 18 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren; and brother, L.D. Ready.
