Services for Norene Burnham will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Welcome Home Jesus Name Church in Ovett, Mississippi.   Officiating the services will be Rev. Joshua Benson and Rev. Colon Rowell and burial will follow in Welcome Home Cemetery.   Serving as pallbearers will be Cameron Carter, Luke Domingue, Eric McKissick, Lee Guy, Michael Guy, and Lance Johnson. Alternates will be Arthur Kitchens and Scott Domingue.

Norene "Rene-Ann" Burnham, a lifelong resident of Richton, Mississippi, was called to her Heavenly Home at the age of 76, just three days shy of her 77th birthday. She was born August 17, 1949, in Laurel, Mississippi, the second of eight children to Luther "Luke" Burnham and Margaret Olivia Mills Burnham.

Rene was a loving and caring, sister, aunt, and cherished member of her family. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved being together with them for family gatherings, especially for holidays where there was always plenty of food, laughter, love, joy, and good times.

She always spoke her mind, although she had the biggest heart and would have done anything for others. She enjoyed playing cards with the family at gatherings and was always quick to remind everyone that somebody was cheating. Her playful spirit, big loving heart, and sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to those around her.

Rene loved fishing and was always ready to go, no matter what time of day or what time of year it was! If she wasn't fishing, watching cowboy shows, or listening to Jimmy Swaggart music, you could often find her cutting grass on her zero-turn mower. She took great pride in keeping her grass cut and was happiest when she was outdoors doing what she loved.

In years past, she was always excited when school was out so Sabrina and Jessie could come spend the month with her. They loved going because there was always an adventure waiting for them - fishing, riding the four-wheeler, chasing turkeys through the woods, and getting up at 2:00 a.m. to run the paper route.

Rene had a strong faith in God and believed is His healing power. She loved her church family and attended church every opportunity she had, especially when she was still able to drive. Even after she was no longer driving, Sister Benson would pick her up and take her to services.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Luke Burnham; her brothers, Jimmy Dale, Nathan, and Ronnie; and her sister, Gay-Nell.

She is survived by her sisters, Deborah Louviere of Morgan City, Louisiana and Laura Carter of Richton, Mississippi; one brother Floyd Burnham of Ione, California; nieces and nephews: Delane Burnham, Chad Burnham, Sabrina Domingue (Scott), Amos Burnham, Shelly Trevino (Dion), William Burnham (Ashlie), Jessie Whipple (her godchild), and Cameron Carter; along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, including Brittany, Hannah, Luke, Kylie, Dillon, Kenzie, Kaleigh, Reven, Rhett, and Beau.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. for family and friends, Tuesday, August 18, 2026 also at the church.
