A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Nita McInnis, age 90, of Leakesville, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Leakesville.  Mrs. McInnis passed from this life on August 5, 2024 in Mobile, Alabama.

Mrs. Nita retired as the manager of the Leakesville Public Library after 10 years of service.  She worked as an apartment manager in Gretna, Louisiana for many years prior to that.  She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Leakesville.  Mrs. Nita truly enjoyed gardening and working in her yard and was a member of the Three Arts Club of Leakesville.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jake Russell and Guy McInnis; and children, Reggy McInnis, Randy McInnis, and Rachelle Dominique.

She is survived by her daughter, Regina Johnson of Leakesville; grandchildren, Nathan McInnis, Blaise Hebert, R.J. McInnis, and Bailey Willis; great grandchildren, Talan Chipley, Mia Chipley, Ruby Chipley, Elerie Hebert, and Rhys Hebert; brothers, H.B. Sullivan, Jr. of Avera and Kernis Sullivan of Neely; and sister, Nelda Moore of Laurel.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
