Services for Mrs. Johnnie Laverne Johnston Breland, age 82, of Beaumont will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2026 at Jones & Son Funeral Home in Beaumont. Mrs. Breland passed from this life on Friday, October 16, 2026 at her residence. Bro. Ed Blakeman will officiate the service.

Mrs. Breland found great joy in teaching children about the Lord through church activities, Vacation Bible School, and Sunday School. To many friends, she was lovingly known as Aunt Johnnie or Nana, a testament to the love and warmth she shared with those around her. She had a passion for crafting and delighted in sharing her hobbies and creative talents with others.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Jackey W. Breland; parents, Paul and Ernestine Johnston; granddaughter, Reed Magee; brothers, Paul Johnston, Jr. and Ed Johnston; sister, Frankie Pitts Freeman; and son-in-law, Chad Nelson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Reesa Lynne Breland, Susan Marie Nelson, and Jackie Laverne (Derek) Magee, all of Beaumont; and grandchildren, Lindsey (Seth) Lea of Hattiesburg, Shane Nelson of Pensacola, FL, Christian (Shanna) Magee of Beaumont, and Andy (Ella) Nelson of Beaumont.

Her legacy of faith, creativity, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of her family and the many friends who were blessed to know her.
