Christy dedicated more than 20 years of service to the Perry County Circuit Clerk’s Office, including the last eight years serving as Perry County Circuit Clerk. Through her years of service, she made a lasting impact on her community and those she worked alongside.

A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Richton, Christy’s faith was an important part of her life. She loved the outdoors and could often be found mowing grass, enjoying a boat ride, shopping, or simply piddling around. Above all, her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and held a special place in her heart.

Christy was preceded in death by her father, Frankie Pittman; mother, Elaine Harris; and stepfather, Thomas Harris.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Derane Mayo of Richton; sons, Myles (Haley) Mayo and Landon (Amy) Mayo;  grandchildren, Finley, Mabry, Lyla, Paislie, P.K., and Sailor; and brothers, George Pittman and Donald Pittman.

Christy will be remembered for her dedication to her work, her faith, her love for the simple pleasures of life, and, most of all, the deep love she had for her family. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and the memories she leaves behind will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
