Graveside services for Mr. Mitchell Douglas Tanksley, age 70, of Petal will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2024 at Seminary Baptist Church Cemetery in the Hintonville Community. He passed from this life on June 10, 2024 at his residence. Bro. Ricky Trull will officiate the service.
Mr. Tanksley was raised in New Augusta, Mississippi and attended New Augusta High School. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Petal, Mississippi. He was formerly a paper carrier for the Hattiesburg American.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Veron Douglas and Marie Hinton Tanksley.
He is survived by a number of cousins and his church family.
