Services for Mr. Mitch Taylor, age 64, of Richton, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mr. Taylor passed from this life on August 28, 2022 at his residence.  Bro. Buddy Smith will officiate the service with burial to follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Kameron DeMontmollin, Shannon DeMontmollin, Nate McMurdy, Keith Schlimgen, Phillip Owens, Robert Taylor and Jeremy Schlimgen as alternate.

Mr. Taylor retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service as a Sr. Chief Petty Officer. While in the Navy, he worked on fast attack submarines during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Desert Storm, and Desert Shield.  After his retirement from the Navy, he worked as a guard for 14 years with the MS Department of Corrections at SMCI.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, George L. "Bo" and Shirley Taylor.

He is survived by his children, Rachel "Kristi" (Shannon) DeMontmollin of Petal and Robert Taylor of Hattiesburg; grandchild, Kameron DeMontmollin of Petal; sisters, Be (Ronnie) Freeman of Piave and Rosemary (Kevin) Bilms of Chesapeake, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
