Services for Mr. Mike "Speedy" Hartfield, age 78, of Richton, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2026 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  Mr. Hartfield passed from this life on January 16, 2026 at his residence.  Bro. Mitchell Smith will officiate the service and burial will follow in Henderson Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Gary McCarty, Ron Herring, Mark Holder, Roy Holder, Donnie Brewer, Jim Ulmer, Gerald Herring, and Carson Holder.

Mr. Hartfield was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and loved his church very much. He was a proud Mason with Sand Hill Lodge and dedicated many years of service to his community and family through his work. He retired as a lineman with Singing River EPA after 28 years of service and was also retired after 15 years as a machine shop and welding instructor at Covington County Vo-Tech in Collins.  Mr. Hartfield was an avid fisherman who especially enjoyed making his own fishing lures. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, son, and grandfather who was deeply loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Hartfield; parents, J.C. and Estelle Smallen; father-in-law, Joe Price; and mother-in-law, Loraine McMillan.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hartfield of Richton; daughter, Stephanie Nicole (Terry) Franco of Richton; adopted daughter, Cindy Finnell of Richton; grandchildren, Michael (Whitney) Farmer of Lexington, IN, Caleb (Karma) Farmer of Leakesville, Lindsey (Josh) Lentz of Knoxville, TN, and Randy (Jana) Franco of Biloxi; and great-grandchildren, Bella, Callie, Aleeyah, Addison, Aiden, Dathan, Dailey, Kaidence, Travis, Hattie, and Brody.
