Services for Mr. Michael L. Thrash, age 77, of Richton, Mississippi, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Union Grove Assembly of God in Richton.  Mr. Thrash passed from this life on May 18, 2026, at his residence.  Bro. Reggie Manning, Bro. Douglas Manning, and Bro. Manuel Henderson will officiate the service and interment will follow in West Salem Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Thrash, David Thrash, Chris Matheny, Koko Manning, Chris Crocker, and Jeff Walley.

A man known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering faith, Michael leaves behind a legacy of devotion to his family, church, and community.  He was a faithful member of Union Grove Assembly of God, where he cherished fellowship and worship among his church family. Michael was the longtime owner and operator of a grocery and convenience store, where he built lasting friendships with customers and neighbors over the years. Following his years in business, he continued his service to others as a correctional officer with South Mississippi Correctional Institution, retiring in 2011 after six years of dedicated employment.  Those who knew Michael will remember his warm spirit, steady presence, and love for simple joys, especially spending time with family and caring for his beloved dog, Jax. He was a man who valued hard work, loyalty, and faith, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.  Though he will be deeply missed, Michael's family finds comfort in the many cherished memories he created and the lasting impact he made on the lives around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom Ray and Georgia Thrash; brother, Glendyl Thrash; and sister, Roma Faye Pierce.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Sherry Thrash of Richton; sister, Jimmy Sue Matheny of Hattiesburg; his faithful companion, Jax; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
