Mr. Michael Peter Chiasson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully at his residence in Richton, Mississippi, on July 10, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born on October 25, 1946, in Golden Meadow, Louisiana, Michael was the son of the late Abel Joseph and Nora Marie Arabie Chiasson. He spent his early years in Louisiana, where he built a life grounded in hard work, family values, and unwavering integrity.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before embarking on a long and successful career with Winn-Dixie. He retired as a store manager after 41 years of dedicated service, known for his leadership, loyalty, and deep care for his employees and customers alike.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Michael was a devoted LSU fan, faithfully following their games and sharing his love of sports with family and friends. He will be remembered for his warm heart, sharp wit, and the deep love he held for his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty LeBlanc Chiasson of Richton, MS; his son, Jason Michael Chiasson of Houma, LA; daughters, Lisa Marie (Larry) Marks, Jenny Rebecca (James) Smith, Erin Elizabeth (Doyle) Lovil, and Amber Lynn (Heinrich) Kurtz, all of Houma, LA; his sister, Grace Catherine Pellegrin of Golden Meadow, LA; and eight cherished grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Justin, William, Chloé, Liam, Cayden, Riley, and Jackson.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Chester Chiasson and Rodney Chiasson; and his sister, Bettie Boudreaux
