Services for Mr. Matthew "Matt" Pierce, age 18, of McLain, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Thompson Hill Baptist Church with Bro. William Moore and Bro. Dan Clark officiating.  Burial will follow in the Progress Cemetery.

Matthew had just graduated from Greene County High School in May of this year and was planning to attend Jones Junior College in the fall.  He worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts in Lucedale, which fed his favorite hobby of working on cars! Matthew was known for being everyones friend and was the life of any gathering.

He was preceded in death by his brother Christopher Pierce, and his grandparents, Beverly Pierce and Brenda Miller.

He is survived by his parents, Toby and Desiree Pierce of McLain; his brother, George Logan Pierce of McLain; his grandparents Earnest Pierce and family, Richard Flurry and family, and James Pierce and family. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and an untold number of friends.

Visitation for Matthew will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Thompson Hill Baptist Church.
