A memorial service will be held at a later date for Mr. Martie Blackwell, age 66, of Richton who passed from this life on December 26, 2025 in Laurel, MS. He was born on July 23, 1959, in Oklahoma to Thomas and Margie Wright Blackwell.

Martie was a member of the Ovett Methodist Church. He was a truck driver for over 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Millie Burgess Blackwell, of Richton; sister, Joyce Brownlee (Carl Wayne) of Richton, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and best friend, Perry Hodge of Ovett.
