Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, in the Jones and Son Chapel of Hattiesburg for Mrs. Martha Shows, age 87, of Purvis. Mrs. Shows passed from this life on November 14, 2024 in Hattiesburg, MS. Bro. Greg Bennett and Bro. Jerry Rawls will officiate with burial to follow in the Grantham Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jarrod Stuart, JoJo Stuart, Aaron Stuart, Jeffrey Stuart, Joey Stuart and Greg Stuart.

Martha Shows was born on October 9, 1937, in Lamar County, MS. She attended Oak Grove schools. She married Harold Shows and together they had two children. They lived in Alabama and California.

She has always stayed busy. She has worked for Hercules and as a home health aide. She also had a flower shop where she made arrangements for funerals, weddings and special events, some of which she coordinated. She ran a pharmaceutical delivery route and sat with elderly patients.

Martha is a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and likes to read her Bible. She enjoys chatting with friends, flower arranging, gardening, cleaning, sewing, crafting, painting and spending most of her time outside.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Edna Hartfield Stuart; sisters, Oda, Oleta, Loretta, Elizabeth, Joyce and Ouida and brothers, William, Robert, Hugh, L.D., Joe, Jesse, and Henry.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah "Debbie" (Jeff) Green of Chelsea, AL; son, Don Shows of Carnes, MS; grandchildren, Jaime (Heath) Lester, Rebekah (Eric) Bass, Christina (Jason) Broome and Samantha Shows; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Stuart and Authur (Susan) Stuart; special mention of the family of her brother Jesse Stuart-Matt, Malinde, Larie, Annette and Mary Brown Stuart and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
