Services for Dr. Mark Roberson Holland, age 54, of Richton, will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Bro. Brandon Hartfield will officiate the service and burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Alexander Henderson, Dr. Gary Andrew Huffman, Robert Morgan Maugh, Jason Peter Rahaim, Carlton Lane Smith, and Dr. Robert Arnold Watson.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Patrick James, Reggie Nelson James, Brian Keith Harvison, and Joseph Caswell Meadows.

Dr. Mark Roberson Holland, DVM, a devoted husband, father, son, and beloved veterinarian, passed away on June 26, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most.

A proud native of Richton, Mississippi, he was a member of the 4H Agricultural Club during his time at Richton School, where his lifelong love for animals and the outdoors first took root. After high school, he attended Jones County Junior College before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 1995, where he was the Pfizer Student Representative and received the Large Animal Surgery Award.

Following graduation from MSU CVM, he began his veterinary career at Pinebelt Veterinary Hospital before opening his own practice in 1999. He dedicated nearly 30 years to Southeast Mississippi Livestock Auction, offering care, guidance, and expertise to farmers and cattlemen from all over. Known for his skill, compassion, and deep dedication to both his patients and clients, he mentored countless aspiring veterinarians and technicians, many of whom credit him for helping shape their careers.

He was a loyal and spirited outdoorsman, happiest with a fishing rod in hand or out in the woods. Whether on horseback or tending to cattle, he found peace and purpose in the land. He was an active member of the County Line Hunting Club and Gaines Creek Hunting Club and valued the camaraderie those friendships brought.

He was a founding and lifelong member of numerous organizations and boards, including but not limited to the Hub City Humane Society, the Mississippi Cattlemen's Association, the Perry County Cattlemen's Association, the American Quarter Horse Association, the Jones College Advisory Board, an advisory board with Merck Animal Health, the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Mississippi State Bulldog Club. He was inducted into the Mystic Krewe of Zeus in 2018 and has been a proud member since.

He found joy in the simple things—cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs with his family, following the Dallas Cowboys, driving on long road trips, and spending time with his two dogs, Drake and Finn.

A devout Christian, he was a lifelong member of New Zion Faithway Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith served as a steady anchor in his life and a guiding light for those who knew him.

Above all, he was a family man. His greatest pride and deepest love were reserved for his wife and two children, who brought endless meaning and light to his life. He was loyal to a fault, generous in spirit, and endlessly kind.

He was dearly loved by many and will be deeply missed, but his legacy of compassion, mentorship, and steadfast love will live on in all who had the privilege to know him.

Dr. Holland is survived by his wife, Chasity Dewitt Holland; daughter, Sydnie Elizabeth Holland; son, Mark Roberson Holland II; and parents, Van and Janet Holland, all of Richton.
