Services for Mr. Mark Hicks, age 63, of Lucedale, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Leakesville.  Bro. Bobby Morris, Bro. Paul Brashier, and Bro. Andrew Wilkins will officiate the service and burial will follow in the Hicks Family Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Hicks, Elliot Burch, Elliot Garrett Burch, Gavin Pugh, Johnnie Denmark, Christopher Helton, and Jeff McClendon.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gene Brown and Bruce Mitchell.

On Monday, August 4, 2025, after an extended illness Mark left this world to join our Lord and Savior and his beloved son, Garrett, in heaven.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 34 years, Barbara (Bobbie) Hicks; son, Justin Hicks (Brittany); daughter, Brittany Burch (Elliot); father, Windell Hicks (Shelba); mother, Gail Collum; brothers, Glenn Hicks (Tammy) and Jamie Hicks (Nicole); his beloved grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kate, Elliot, and Evie Burch, and Scarlett and Cecilia Hicks; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mark's career in construction began at an early age, working with Brown & Root for over 25 years. Mark worked for various construction companies as a Project Manager until retiring with Simmco Mechanical Services as a Construction Manager.  He was a lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide football fan and an avid Nascar fan.  He loved working in his shop building outdoor furniture, ATV riding, running a bull dozier, bush hogging and of course his favorite, watching Gunsmoke!   Mark cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. His greatest accomplishment in this life was coming to know the Lord in his final years.

In lieu of flowers, Mark requested donations be made to the Garrett Hicks Memorial Foundation to support their mission of helping young men further their development in the field of welding.
