Memorial services for Mrs. Marie Madden Lavanaway, age 82, of Purvis, Mississippi, will be held at a later date.  Mrs. Lavanaway passed from this life on June 21, 2026.

One of 13 children, Marie was the daughter of James Walter and Lurenie Lee Madden or Purvis, Mississippi.  She was a member of Central Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Purvis.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Larry Jay Lavanaway, Sr., her parents; her five brothers, Bobby Elbert, Jack Dempsey, Thomas Dale, Hubert Ray, and Billy Frank Madden; and her sister, Rosie Faye Madden Yawn.

Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her son, Larry Jay Lavanaway, Jr. of Solon, OH; daughter, Alice Lavanaway of Purvis, MS; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, James Earl Madden and John Madden, both of Purvis and sisters, Mary Jane Runnels, Martha Skeen, Sue Scruggs, and Nita Anderson, all of Purvis, MS.

Jesus said to her "I am the resurrection and the life.  Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die.  John 11:25-26
