Services for Mr. Mack Arthur Byrd, Sr., age 77, of Richton, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2022 at Seminary Baptist Church.  Mr. Byrd passed from this life on September 14, 2022 at his residence.  Bro. David Walley and Bro. Cody Herring will officiate the service with burial to follow at Seminary Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Donald Bryant, Marty Herring, Kenny Bryant, Cody Herring, David Pipkins, and Bubba Pipkins.  Honorary pallbearers will be Paul David Pipkins, Wayne Miller, Roddy Hinton, and Donnie Parker.

Mr. Byrd was a member of Seminary Baptist Church in the Hintonville community.  He was a chipper at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 13 years and a route driver with Blossman Gas in Richton for over 13 years.  He was also a member of the Richton Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Emma Byrd; son, Robert Travis Byrd; and brothers, Joe Byrd, Dan Byrd, and Robert Byrd, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Aldie Byrd of Richton; sons, Mack A. (Karen) Byrd, Jr. of Neely and Roy (Sue Ann) Byrd of Richton; brother, Jack (Ora) Byrd of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Jessica (Clayton) Temple, Lindsey (Donovan) Freeman, Travis Jones, Morgan (Tommy) Freeman, and Nathan Byrd; and great grandchildren, Emma Temple, Eli Temple, Will Freeman, and Joel Freeman.
