A celebration of the life on Mr. Lyndell Pierce, age 90, of Hattiesburg, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Woolwine and Bro. Lynn Wallace officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Aker, Alton Pierce, Johnathon Anderson, Dalen Pierce, Noah Pierce and Christopher Collins.

Mr. Pierce attended Sanford High School and the University of Southern Mississippi before joining the U. S. Army.  During his service, he was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.  Following his military service, he returned home and started a trucking company in the Hattiesburg area.  From that, he transitioned into ownership of Hattiesburg Concrete Products for 32 years.  In his retirement, he operated A-Better Storage Park up until last year.  His faith was always a driving force in his life, as he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years, and was currently a member of Lincoln Road Baptist Church. Mr. Pierce was a faithful member and officer of the Gideons International.  Later in his life he attended the Gulf Coast Baptist Institute where he studied Greek and Bible history.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dwayne Keith Pierce; his parents, Winic and Meliora Pierce, and his brothers, Max Pierce and Gary Pierce.

He is survived by his loving wife, Roma Faye Pierce; his children, Janice D. Pierce of Hattiesburg, Dennis L. (Gwen) Pierce of Oloh, Elisa P. (Keith) Collins of Hattiesburg, Letitia R. Pierce (Jeff Aker) of Olive Branch, and Darian A. Pierce of Hattiesburg; his grandchildren, Danielle, Jessica, Christopher, Dalen, Noah, Keagan, Rylan, and Arabella; his great grandchildren, Beckham, Melody, John Lyndell, and Colt, and his brothers, Billy (Mildred) Pierce and Jerry (Joyce) Pierce.

Visitation for Mr. Pierce will be held from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to The Gideons International.
