Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, in the Jones and Son Chapel of Moselle for Mrs. Lillie Ruth Jenkins, age 93, of The Villages, FL. Dr. Keith Thompson will officiate with the burial to follow in the Moselle Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

On September 14, 2025, Lillie Ruth Jenkins was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on August 23, 1932, to Melvin Dilmore and Nettie Cockrell Dilmore in Magee, Mississippi. Ms. Ruth, as she was known by friends and relatives, had recently celebrated her 93rd birthday.

She was the oldest of five children and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, RL Jenkins of Moselle, MS; two brothers, Charles Ray Dilmore of Guntersville, AL, Jimmy Doris Dilmore of Magee, MS; one sister, Gussie Sims of Moselle, MS; and one granddaughter, Lori Boarder-Spangler of Covington, GA.

Ruth is survived by one daughter, Deborrah Shambarger (Tom) of Lady Lake, FL; one son, Mark Jenkins of Slidell, LA; one grandson, Scot Mackiewicz of St. Charles, Missouri; two great grandsons, Taylor and Zachary Boarder of Monroe, GA; one great-great granddaughter, Madelynn Boarder of Monroe, GA; one sister, Mary Autry (Dick) of Ellisville, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth spent many years working in retail, mostly in ladies wear, and then at TG&Y.  After retirement, she served as the librarian for the Ellisville Public Library. This was her dream job as Ruth was a voracious reader. Many times, she read two books at one time. It was never a surprise to see her complete a book in one day, if she really loved it. Working in her yard, baking cakes/pies for church and church friends, crocheting baby booties for new Moms, and loving all young children were her passions.

Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2025, at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Moselle
