Services for Mr. Leither David Walley, age 83, of Richton will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church.  Mr. Walley passed from this life on May 11, 2023 at his residence.  Bro. Larry Reynolds and Bro. Norman Nowell will officiate the service and burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Malcolm "Mak" Walley, Austin Walley, Alexander Dykes, Brian Brewer, Kevin McLain, Don Byrd, Braxton Odom, and Shawn Jones.

Mr. Walley retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after more than 20 years as an electronics technician.  He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years during the Vietnam War and the Six-Day War. He was a member and deacon of Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church where he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.  One of his favorite pastimes was officiating football, basketball, and baseball.

Mr. Walley was preceded in death by his parents, Leither D. and Vaudie J. Walley; brothers, Jimmy Walley, Phillip Walley, and Glennis Walley; and sisters, Annis June Walley, Judy Bradley, and Carol Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brewer Walley of Richton; sons, Duane (Cheryl) Walley and Dwight (Charity) Walley, both of Richton; daughter, Andrea (Kenny) Dykes of Richton; sisters, Avis Tisdale of Ocean Springs, Marsha (Cowan) McLain of Richton, Krista (Pete) Thompson of Richton, and Sara Beth Schaefer of Pascagoula; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Piave.
