Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Jones and Son Chapel for Mrs. Laverne Touchstone, age 88, of Richton.  Mrs. Touchstone passed from this life on January 8, 2023 at the Perry County Nursing Home.  Bro. Deke Cochran will officiate the service and burial will follow in Edwards Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Shannon Freeman, Russell Dykes, Bobby Cowart, Jackie Cowart, Dillon Burnham, Landon Dennis, and Kenny Touchstone.

Mrs. Touchstone was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of the Good Hope Community.  Her home was always full of children from the neighborhood.  She enjoyed cooking and family get togethers.

Mrs. Touchstone was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Touchstone; parents, George and Mellie Dykes; brothers, Ulis George Dykes and Joe Dale Dykes; and sister, Bernice Faye Odom.

She is survived by her son, Buddy Touchstone of Richton; daughter, Charlotte (Norbert) Freeman of Richton; sister, Bertha Rae McLain of Braxton; half brothers, James Scarbrough and Bill Ray Scarbrough, both of Ovett; half sister, Alberta Whiteaker of Ovett; grandsons, Shannon (Lindsey) Freeman of Laurel and Dakota Touchstone of Richton; and great grandchildren, Kyndall, Drae, Dillon, Landon, and Jackson.
