Services for Mr. Laurce "John" Bounds, age 93, of Sumrall, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Jones & Son Chapel in Hattiesburg.  Mr. Bounds passed from this life on May 23, 2026 in Hattiesburg.  Bro. Andy Baker will officiate the service and burial will follow in Rocky Branch Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jared Bounds, Mike Bounds, Dee Nelson, Brad Lott, Charlie Lott, and Martin Lott.  Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Miguel Reyes.

Mr. Bounds worked for W.R. Fairchild Construction for 33 years, retiring as shop foreman. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and he especially enjoyed dog hunting for rabbits and birds. He attended Oloh Baptist Church. Above all, he loved his family and especially enjoyed going out to eat with them.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Bounds Houseman; grandson, Danny Wayne Bounds, Jr.; parents, George and Edith Bounds; and siblings, Jimmy Bounds, Pete Bounds, Cecil Bounds, Margie Johnson, Erma Gibson, Verlee "Buddy" Harvey, and Dell Roberson.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris "Oline" Bounds of Sumrall; children, Frank Bounds of Oloh, Danny Bounds of Oloh, Steve "Puny" Bounds of Oloh, Sandy (Marty) Lott of Oloh, Tammy (Bo) Gros of Oak Grove, Robert (Deborah) Ginter of Oloh, and Chad (Amanda) Bounds of Oloh; 16 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Faye Riley.
